PRIVACY NOTICE: EU DATA TRANSFER

  • City Beach is consolidating its global database systems which will affect users with data on its European database.
  • Currently European customer data is maintained by third-parties who have access to this data. This data is already accessed by City Beach’s main business (and staff) in Australia to conduct its business.
  • Our privacy policy already includes a notice about this, and that customers consent to cross-border data transfers.
  • Pursuant to this consolidation, City Beach’s European data is being transferred to its Australian database where it will be maintained directly by City Beach. This allows for the following:
    • City Beach will have greater control over customer data, allowing City Beach to more confidently and accurately fulfill any customer requests concerning that customer’s data.
    • City Beach will reduce its IT systems costs and exposure to exchange rates, allowing it to have a more stable operation of its business, which enables City Beach to provide better services to customers.
    • This transfer is already covered by the existing privacy policy for cross-border transfers, and so it does not require any new agreements or commitments from data subjects than is already given currently.
    • City Beach is subject to the GDPR and committed to remaining GDPR compliant. This transfer in no way undermines or offloads any privacy law requirements to which City Beach is subject.
    • Fewer third parties will have access to customer data, which reduces the number of potential data leak contact points.
  • This transfer is of benefit to City Beach and its customers. Notwithstanding this, if you are concerned with the transfer of your data out of the EU, please contact City Beach to request the production, alteration, or deletion, of your data at any time as per our privacy policy.
  • To contact us, use the details in our privacy policy, located here: Privacy Policy
